Hello, I’m Paula

I’m a doula offering calm, compassionate support to parents through pregnancy, birth and the early weeks after baby arrives.

My role is to walk alongside you, providing reassurance, practical help, and a steady presence, so you feel supported, informed and confident during this important time.

Why I Became a Doula

I’ve always been drawn to supporting people through moments of change. Becoming a doula felt like a natural step, combining care, listening, and advocacy at a time when families need it most.

Every pregnancy and birth is unique. I believe parents deserve to feel heard, respected and supported in making choices that are right for them, without pressure or judgement.

How I Support You

  • Emotional support and reassurance
  • A calm, continuous presence
  • Practical guidance and information
  • Support for partners as well as parents
  • Respect for your choices and preferences

My Approach

My approach is non-judgemental, inclusive and centred on you. I offer evidence-informed support while always respecting that you are the decision-maker in your own care.

I work alongside midwives and healthcare professionals, never replacing medical care, but helping you feel confident and supported within it.

Training & Experience

I am a trained doula, having recently completed my professional training with The Doula Foundation (UK). My training focused on evidence-based support during pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period, with an emphasis on listening, emotional reassurance, informed choice and working respectfully alongside midwives and healthcare professionals.

Alongside my doula training, I bring a strong foundation of professional and personal experience that informs how I support families.

I have extensive experience working in primary school environments, supporting children and families through important stages of learning, development and change. This work required patience, empathy, clear communication and the ability to respond calmly and thoughtfully to individual needs, skills that translate naturally into doula support.

I am also a mother of two, and my own experiences of pregnancy, birth and early parenthood have given me a deep understanding of how significant and life-changing this time can be. I understand how important it is to feel heard, supported and reassured, particularly when navigating unfamiliar or emotional territory.

My approach is grounded in professional training, lived experience and ongoing learning. I am committed to continuing professional development and to offering calm, respectful and inclusive support, centred around what feels right for you and your family.

A Little About Me

When I’m not supporting families, I enjoy quieter moments, time outdoors, good conversation, and creating a calm home environment. These small things shape how I show up for the families I support: grounded, present and attentive.
